Murphy & Riley Secures Another Defense Verdict.

On March 25, 2019, William P. Mekrut obtained a defense verdict after a five day trial in Suffolk Superior Court on behalf of his client, a member of a local hospital’s police and security staff, in a case in which the plaintiff alleged he was falsely arrested and subjected to excessive use of force in the course of the arrest on hospital property. The defense presented evidence that there was probable cause for the arrest and that the arrest of the plaintiff was effected properly and entirely within constitutional bounds.
